Parents and Families
Parent and family involvement is important to MetroLacrosse. We know that when families are involved, kids have a stronger experience with MetroLacrosse.
Ways to Get Involved as a Parent, Alumni or Family Member:
- RESPECT Referee
A RESPECT referee observes lacrosse games and evaluates each player and teams ability to practice and display the values of RESPECT on the field.
No lacrosse experience or knowledge is required to be a RESPECT referee. If you are interested in learning more about becoming a RESPECT referee
for an upcoming game or season, please contact Meg Hely at mhely@metrolacrosse.com or 617-288-9898 x102.
-
Transportation
We know that many parents struggle with how to safely provide transportation for their children to and from lacrosse practice.
To the best of our ability, MetroLacrosse provides transportation, the buddy system on the T, and/or connection with team members
for carpooling.
If you are interested in sharing transportation responsibilities with your son or daughter’s teammates, Carly Himmelstein at chimmmelstein@metrolacrosse.com or 617-288-9898 x103.

Rules of Lacrosse:
Whether this is your first experience with lacrosse or if you need a refresher on the rules,
a general understanding of the game is important.
Please visit the US Lacrosse website (http://www.uslacrosse.org/) and review the online Parents Guide.

All events benefit MetroLacrosse's ongoing efforts to provide fun, safe after-school and summer programming
to hundreds
of Boston's urban
youth and teens.
