Mellon City ACCESS

Mellon CityACCESS: An Investment In Youth, was created to positively influence the future of Boston's young people. Designed in direct response to the City of Boston's commitment to youth development, the program provides enriching out-of-school opportunities through a special partnership with eight community-based organizations: Boston Children's Museum, Boston Nature Center, The City School, The Food Project, Malden YMCA, MetroLacrosse, South Boston Neighborhood House and The Strand Theater.

Offering access to both job and life skill opportunities, Mellon CityACCESS sponsors 48 inner-city young people (known at Teen Ambassadors), empowering them to discover their potential through unique work apprenticeships. In addition, five teens who best demonstrate a commitment to their work and future will be awarded a $5,000 scholarship for higher education upon completing the program.

"I love the MetroLacrosse program. I have been a part of it for three years. I always told my mom that if I can help Metro I will, if I can help kids stay off the street I will. As long as I am here, I will try to better Metro."

- Dwayne Edwards, Boston Bulldogs and MCA Teen Ambassabor
