SummerBounce Overnight Camp 2016

The highlight of MetroLacrosse’s summer programming, SummerBounce is a 5 night, 6 day camp hosted at the New Hampton School in New Hampshire. Metro participants join boys and girls from other urban lacrosse programs across the country (including Dallas, Harlem, Denver, Baltimore, Houston, San Francisco, and Long Island) for a week of lacrosse, team building, enrichment, and outdoor activities. Players are split into teams of 12 and live in dorms with their teammates and coaches/counselors, who will guide them through the their on-field and off-field activities. The camp is free to attend, although it is the responsibility of your home program to assist in transportation to and from the New Hampton School. MetroLacrosse participants will be bussed to and from their home field.

There are two weeks of camp – separated by grade level:

Week 1: July 10th-15th (open to players entering the 6-8th grade in the fall of this year).

Week 2: August 7th-12th (open to players entering the 9th-12th grade in the fall of this year).

How to Register:

Current eligible MetroLacrosse participants should have received an email with a registration link by May 7th. If you did not receive an email but believe you should have, please email pcronin@metrolacrosse.com.

Non-Metro participants will be specifically invited by their home program, which has received all of the camp information and registration info via email. Please communicate with the lacrosse program you currently play for to get that information.

Deadlines:

The deadline to register for camp through the registration link is May 24th. Once you are registered you will receive an email regarding the required paperwork and the “parent handbook,” which will answer many questions you might have about the camp.

The required paperwork deadline is Saturday, June 18th. This includes the paperwork from out-of-state and non-Metro participants.

Please email Rod Henriques at rhenriques@metrolacrosse.com or Pat Cronin atpcronin@metrolacrosse.com if you have any questions.

High School Teams (9th-12th grade)

The 11 week spring season is the main season of play for the high school Bulldogs team.  The Bulldogs home field is at Moakley Park in South Boston; all high schoolers from Chelsea and Boston participate on the same team starting in high school.  Practices/classroom time will be held 4 nights per week with games and special events throughout (occasionally on Saturdays).  Both boys and girls teams will play a full 8-12 game schedule against other high school programs in the Metro-Boston area. Practice attendance is incredibly important at the high school level and will affect game day playing time.  The high school program aims to develop skill both on and off the field for participating players, with the help of an experienced and dedicated staff!

Times: Practices are 6:00pm-8:00pm Monday through Thurs. Game times vary
Practice Locations: Moakley Field in South Boston or at the MetroLacrosse office in Jamaica Plain
