Morgan's Day

Each year in the fall, MetroLacrosse honors the memory of Morgan McDuffee by holding a day long jamboree which includes lacrosse games and violence prevention activities.  Morgan, captain of the Bates College lacrosse team, was killed while trying to break up a fight in 2002.  This year, MetroLacrosse participants discussed non-violent ways to resolve disputes and expressed how violence has affected them by painting murals.  The day concluded with words from Suzanna Andrews, McDuffee's fiancée, who spoke about the importance of nonviolent problem solving in creating a peaceful society.
