Educational Programs

Educational Resources at MetroLacrosse

One of the core elements of MetroLacrosse’s mission is to inspire youth to achieve academic and educational success, and the way that MetroLacrosse defines success in this area is to create meaningful and achievable pathways to be admitted to and graduate from college.  This is important to MetroLacrosse because we believe that overall success in life is achieved with a balanced and rigorous commitment to being a student, an athlete and a strong community member.  In order to achieve these goals, MetroLacrosse offers progressive steps which, if a participant and his/her family are fully engaged, will lead to attending and graduating from college.  These steps are based on age group as well as four key elements of commitment – Explore; Connect; Engage; Prepare.

The following chart illustrates MetroLacrosse’s commitment to academic success and access to education.  We welcome your participation!

MetroLacrosse Scholastic Placement Program

For students who qualify, independent schools can be a good social, academic, and economic fit. Because most independent schools are selective and have low student-teacher ratios, they provide students with valuable educational services, access to extra-curricular activities like club, intramural, and varsity sports, and individualized attention to prepare students for post-secondary opportunities and beyond.

The independent school application process requires a serious commitment from students and their families. Schools seek students with a grade point average of a B or higher and have a rigorous application process that includes interviews, writing samples, a national examination test, and a detailed financial aid application. In the past, MetroLacrosse has helped players enter and transfer into independent schools. If you believe that an independent school setting would be a good fit for your child and he or she can commit to participating in a rigorous academic environment, then MetroLacrosse would like to provide you with further information.

Adri's Legacy Foundation

Adri's Legacy was founded in honor of Adrianna Shakyla Duffy, a MetroLacrosse alumnus.  The foundation provides support to talented youth who are determined to obtain a better education adn are facing financial obstacles in their pursuit of learning.  The scholarship is awarded to cover the acceptance/registration fee that is required by private high schools and any college.  These fees are not typically covered by financial aid and so Adri's Legacy Foundation makes it possible.

To learn more about Adri's Legacy Foundation and how to apply, please visit MetroLacrosse's Alumni Page.
